Aims and Objectives

Climate Strategies Climate Strategies is an international network, coordinated by the Centre for European Policy

Studies (CEPS) [add link] in Brussels and supported by the Shell Foundation intended to support cohesive policy responses to climate change. It aims to connect leading applied research on international climate change issues to the policy process and public debates, raising the level of debate and the quality and coherence of advice to policy formation.

To this end it will:

(a) promote and communicate important policy-related research findings from its members to media and decision-makers internationally;

(b) conduct between relevant member institutions timely analysis of topics relevant to strategic policy decisions in government, companies and NGOs;

(c) convene or co-sponsor occasional meetings on topical issues of international climate change policy, and oversee an annual training course on climate change;

(d) develop fuller proposals for high-level, relevant and influential policy- research on strategic aspects of applied climate change policy, and the means for its effective and timely dissemination.
